Bec (Shirley Strumpet)
Bec has always been drawn to dance, taking to the stage at the age of 3, exploring many dance styles such as Classical, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, pole and chair dance. Completing a Diploma of Dance Teaching and Management in 2006, she has since pursued a career in her passion. Teaching Jazz, tap and contemporary over Melbourne since 2006.
Bec discovered her love for Burlesque in 2010 and has since created her alter ego ‘Shirley Strumpet’. As a student at Bottoms Up! Bec has performed in many end-of-year shows such as Monsterotica, Kapow, Underworld and Faerie Tales plus countless shows across Melbourne such as Scandalous at The 86 and placing second at Australian Burlesque Festival’s Baby Bombshells in 2011.
As the contemporary teacher at Bottoms Up!, Bec strives to get the best out of her students, whilst introducing a quirky style and getting them to think outside the box for Choreography. However, Bec’s major focus for her class is fun, just enjoy yourself and the rest will follow.
